Moments
A few moments that shaped my journey in research, learning, and life ❤️
Sharing the Stage with My Mentor
Presented our group's recent AI4Science work at Renmin University, following a talk by my advisor Prof. Lan. It was a rare chance to hear how researchers from different backgrounds think about the future of AI4Science, and to see where our work fits into that bigger picture.
Inspiring Academic Dialogues
Attended the forum and shared my research with early-career scholars from around the world. Motivated from constructive discussions with senior researchers I deeply admire.
First Doctoral Forum Experience
Gave two short talks at the Fudan-Tsinghua joint doctoral forum. It was a pleasure to connect with talented AI researchers from Shanghai and hear about their work. Unexpectedly, the presentation also received the sub-forum’s first prize, which quietly boosted my confidence in presenting.
My First Overseas AI Conference
My first in-person AI conference, and my first poster presentation at ICLR in Vienna. Interestingly, the idea behind that paper had quietly arrived one night before sleep. The constructive conversations in front of the poster taught me what “solid and impactful work” really means.
Warm Moments in Our Lab
Our lab has a sweet tradition: a cake for every good thing that happens. These small celebrations make me feel truly at home here — surrounded by people who share the same passion and joy for AI and science.
Speaking at the Opening Ceremony
I was invited to speak at our program's opening ceremony about what the early PhD years had taught me, not just about research, but about learning to work through uncertainty and still find real joy in the process. I hoped that honesty would matter to the new students listening.
A Wonderful Year at Yanqi Lake
Spent a year at Yanqi Lake Campus taking coursework, with few distractions beyond the lake and the math itself. It was a quiet, immersive stretch of time. A good view can make even the hardest problem feel welcome.
Starting My AI Research Journey
My undergraduate thesis was my first attempt at independent AI research, guided by Prof. Ma and Prof. Lan. I learned a great deal about building up foundational knowledge and academic writing — and, more importantly, how to stay with a problem long enough for it to become interesting. The thesis was later recognized as an Excellent Undergraduate Thesis of UCAS.
iGEM Giant Jamboree
My first real research project, from initial idea to final presentation. The team earned a Gold Medal and Best Track Award, but what stuck with me even more was the experience of staying up with my teammates in the bio lab until sunrise. Research was demanding, but seeing it works was rewarding.
My first Exclusive Choir Concert
The PhD choir's professional training gave me a real foundation in vocal technique and musical artistry. Demanding, beautiful, and deeply fulfilling.
